Description

This wall rack is purpose‑built for storing wine bottles horizontally, keeping the corks moist to maintain seal integrity. The rack is constructed from solid European oak with a natural clear matt lacquer that highlights the wood’s distinct grain and medullary rays. The unit comprises three parallel troughs, each formed by two curved side supports and a flat bottom rail, designed to cradle standard Bordeaux and Burgundy bottles with a body diameter between 75 mm and 90 mm. The overall rack dimensions are 55 cm in width, 18 cm in depth, and 15 cm in height. Each trough can hold one bottle, resulting in a total capacity of three bottles. The troughs are spaced 16 cm centre‑to‑centre, providing adequate clearance between bottles to prevent glass‑to‑glass contact. The bottom of each trough is lined with a self‑adhesive cork rubber strip 2 mm thick, which adds friction to prevent bottles from sliding and provides a cushion against minor vibration. The entire unit is assembled with mortise‑and‑tenon joints and waterproof PVAc glue; no visible screws or metal fasteners are on the exterior. Two concealed wall brackets are attached to the rear of the rack, each with two keyhole slots requiring four screws in total for mounting. The supplied fixing kit includes plastic anchors for solid masonry and stainless steel screws. The maximum total bottle weight recommended is 5 kg, which corresponds to three full standard 750 ml wine bottles (average 1.3 kg each plus glass weight of approximately 0.5 kg per bottle). The oak has a Janka hardness of approximately 1,360 lbf, making it durable against minor scuffs, but the lacquer is not alcohol‑resistant; spillage of red wine or spirits should be wiped off immediately to avoid staining or finish softening. The rack weighs 1.5 kg empty. It is not designed for sparkling wine bottles, which have a wider base and different neck geometry, nor for magnum (1.5 L) bottles that exceed the trough length. The horizontal orientation also means the label side may face downwards depending on bottle placement – this is normal and does not affect storage function. Installation requires a drill with a 6 mm bit and a level; the rack should be fixed to a wall capable of bearing the total live load, preferably into brick, concrete, or timber studs. Drywall installation without studs is not recommended for this product. The rack is intended for indoor use in dining rooms, wine cellars, or kitchen walls away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as temperature above 25°C may accelerate wine aging but does not directly damage the rack itself.
