Hexagonal Honeycomb Wall Shelf Set of Three

Description

This set comprises three hexagonal wall shelves constructed from 12 mm thick birch plywood with a clear lacquer finish on the face and edges. Each hexagon has an internal width of 20 cm (flats to flats) and a depth of 12 cm. The three units vary slightly in height to allow flexible arrangement: one is 18 cm tall, one 22 cm tall, and one 26 cm tall, measured from the top flat edge to the bottom flat edge. The plywood is made from FSC‑certified birch veneers with a B/BB grade, meaning the face veneer is clean with minimal natural defects, while the back may show small pin knots. Each shelf features a single concealed keyhole bracket routed into the back, allowing flush mounting with a single screw per shelf. The inclusion of three brackets and matching screws with wall plugs is provided for solid wall installation. The interior space of each hexagon forms a shallow compartment suitable for displaying small collectibles, single candles, small succulent pots (up to 10 cm diameter), or rolled face towels. The open back design means items are visible from both front and rear if the shelf is installed in a pass‑through area, but the rear opening also allows dust to accumulate behind items more easily; regular dusting is recommended. The clear lacquer is a nitrocellulose‑based coating that provides moderate scratch resistance but is not heat‑proof – placing hot items directly on the internal bottom surface may cause clouding. Each hexagon supports a maximum internal load of 1.5 kg when the screw is properly anchored into a solid substrate. The total set weight is 1.4 kg. The three shelves can be arranged in a cluster or spaced independently; no structural connection exists between them. Installation requires a drill with a 6 mm bit and a screwdriver. For drywall, use of toggle bolts instead of the supplied plugs is strongly recommended. The edges of the plywood are sanded but remain visible, showing the layered veneer construction as a design feature.
